Copper and Iron - the giants of energy transition and infrastructure

COPPER

Copper is the most important critical metal for energy transition and urbanization. In order to achieve the world's climate and development goals, the global supply of copper needs to double if not quadruple in the next decade.

MANIC will produce sustainable copper metal from challenging ores and waste materials at a significantly lower cost, unlocking trapped resources across the globe.

Strategic alliances for the clean copper business are currently being considered.

HYDROGEN & IRON

Iron and Steel represent between 7% and 9% of the world’s CO2 emissions. MANIC’s hybrid iron making system reduces these emissions by up to 75%.

MANIC’s hybrid iron making method is simple, energy neutral and environmentally sustainable with the potential to produce significant volumes of hydrogen as a co-product.

MANIC has secured a strategic partnership with a top tier mining major to develop the hydrogen and iron business.

Our next wave of technologies to support energy transition

BATTERY METALS

Energy transition requires an unprecedented increase in storage capabilities - without this a move to Net Zero is not possible. The main metals needed include Lithium, Cobalt, Manganese and Nickel.

MANIC is developing a set of technologies to recover these metals from mining waste sources in an efficient and low impact manner.

FERROALLOYS

High quality steel requires the addition of ferroalloys. These are critical ingredients to make steel stronger, more flexible, heat resistant, durable and stainless.

MANIC is currently working on sustainable and efficient ways to produce ferromanganese, ferrochrome and other ferroalloys.

REDUCTANTS

Reductants, mostly originating from coal, are critical in metallurgical and chemical production.

MANIC has come up with a method to convert environmentally hazardous and abundant super fine coal waste streams into a high value reductant product. Our process produces excess energy which can then be integrated into other processes or used to produce hydrogen.

GOLD

Gold is the universal means to store value. It forms a significant part of central banks’ reserves and is an important investment instrument especially in ‘stormy times’. Gold also has important applications in industry and medicine and is renowned for its use in jewelry.

MANIC applies superior environmentally sustainable technology to extract more gold from the ore than the traditional processing practices are capable of.
